About

My work is rooted in the belief that people heal when they feel safe, understood, and supported. Therapy, at its best, offers exactly that, a space where lasting change begins in the context of a trusting relationship, where people can make sense of their experiences, build on their strengths, and move forward with greater confidence. My goal is to provide a thoughtful, clinically sound and supportive environment where that kind of growth can happen.

Clinical Background — My career began in psychiatric and medical hospitals and school-based mental health programs, where I worked with children and families navigating stress, trauma and grief. Those experiences continue to shape my work in private practice, where I provide therapy, parent consultation, and professional guidance grounded in both clinical experience and real-world application.

Global Work — My work extends beyond private practice through national and international speaking on childhood grief, trauma, parenting, and creative arts therapy. I co-designed and implemented a trauma-informed program in Ukraine during the war, worked with Operation Smile on a mission in China, and later contributed to the Recover and Thrive Project, helping develop practical resources to support children, families, educators, and clinicians affected by war and conflict.

Media — I am a recurring guest expert on NBC CT Live, where I translate child development and parenting challenges into practical guidance for parents. I have also appeared on WABC-TV in New York City.

Teaching — I have been an adjunct professor for close to 20 years, teaching human communication and psychology. Teaching keeps me connected to the science of human development and to the perspectives of the next generation.

Supervision & Consultation — I provide clinical supervision and consultation for therapists seeking to strengthen their work with children, teens, and families through practical, thoughtful, and clinically grounded guidance. I am also an Authorized Art Therapy Continuing Education Provider (AATCEP℠) Program.
