Clinical Supervision for Mental Health Providers

Clinical supervision is a vital component of ethical and effective counseling practice. It provides a structured space for reflection, growth, and accountability, helping counselors navigate complex cases, manage emotional responses, and maintain professional boundaries. By consulting with me, a counselor gains access to decades of experienced counseling with children and families, compassionate guidance that supports skill development, creative and thoughtful directives designed to meet the clinical needs of your client, and ultimately leads to better outcomes.

Types of clinical consultation services:

  • I offer clinical supervision for professionals who are working towards their ATR (registration in art therapy) and students studying art therapy.

  • I also offer consultation for clinicians working with children and families using creative arts therapy as a modality; as well as provide trainings to large and small groups, specializing in childhood grief and trauma.

  • Examples of areas of speciality include, grief with children, trauma, parenting issues, art, play, medical play, anxiety, depression, aggression, and selective mutism.

Working with children and teens in grief and trauma: A developmental art-based approach. About This Course: Friday, SEPTEMBER 25th 12:00-2:00pm, VIRTUAL/ONLINE

Join us to learn about how to help children and teens in grief and trauma and why their needs are unique. This course offers mental health professionals a trauma-informed, developmental framework for understanding how young people experience loss and trauma across ages and stages, and how art-based approaches can help with treatment.

Through lecture, discussion, and a guided art experiential, participants will leave with both a deeper clinical understanding and practical, ready-to-use interventions they can bring directly into their work.

This course is designed for beginner to intermediate level clinicians, including:

  • Child therapists

  • Art therapists

  • Play therapists

  • Counselors and social workers

  • School-based clinicians

  • Psychologists and mental health professionals

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Differentiate developmental responses to grief and trauma in children and adolescents.

  2. Identify at least three behavioral and emotional indicators of grief and trauma.

  3. Describe the therapeutic role of art making in supporting emotional regulation and processing.

  4. Apply at least one art-based directive designed to facilitate expression and coping with children and teens experiencing grief and trauma.

About the Presenter

Wendy Bradley, ATR-BC, CLAT: Wendy Bradley is a board-certified licensed clinical art therapist and child therapist with over 28 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families navigating grief, trauma, and loss. Her work has spanned pediatric hospitals, school settings, and international humanitarian contexts, including a co-director of a children's grief and trauma camp in Ukraine. She has presented to medical students, mental health professionals, and international audiences, and is an ATCB-approved continuing education provider. Wendy is an adjunct professor at CT State Colleges, a recurring parenting expert contributor for NBC CT Live, and the author of the Calming Senses Series of children's books. She brings the same grounded, evidence-informed approach to her training that she brings to every clinical encounter.

CE Credit Information: This event is approved for 2 CE credits through the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB).

Refund Policy

Registration for this training is considered a commitment to attend. Full refunds are available up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the training. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the training are not eligible for a refund. At the discretion of the provider, a credit toward a future training may be offered.

No refunds will be issued for no-shows or for participants who are unable to attend after the training has begun.

If the training is canceled by the provider, participants will receive a full refund or may choose to transfer their registration to a future offering. Continuing education certificates are issued only to participants who attend the training and meet attendance requirements. No exceptions will be made.
